I'm transferring here with this issue from the Linux forum, where I've been discussing it without realising till now that others were experiencing similar problems with SoftSqueeze itself.
My experience is that pressing and holding 'Pause' on the SQ 'remote' causes SQ to freeze. Also, the 'Search' button does not trigger LazySearch as it should - it does nothing - though I can start LazySearch OK from the Plugins menu via the 'remote'. Curiously, if I use the alternative 'Help' screen java applet instead of SQ, LazySearch does work; but the applet, too, freezes when I try to stop a track with the 'Pause' button. I have deleted the Java cache, and reinstalled SQ, but that does not resolve the problem (though it did reinstate SQ after it had stopped working completely.)
