Just spoke to Tascam tech support for further clarification. The ECM8000 needs phantom power. But, when you turn on phantom power on the US-122L, it sends it to both the left and right MIC IN ports. I definitely don't want to be plugging my preamp into that. The Guitar/Line-in is a 1/4" TRS jack, also balanced, but it doesn't get Phantom power. So, looks like I need a balanced female XLR to 1/4" TRS cable...
