My Android is up to date as well. Squeezer is the only interface I use that has the "loading" issue. Are you saying that if your son pulls the fast scroll bar from top to bottom he doesn't ever see the issue? I find if you stay in the Artist list then after scrolling through the list once the loading issue disappears. If you then open the Album list the loading issue is back. Going back to the Artist list again and the issue reappears there as well.
