Logs showing what happens when the problem happens would help.
Also ... where should be no need to format (ever) and no need to reinstall pCP ... but ... if you are seeing problems that can only be resolved by completely reinstalling pCP then maybe the issue is somewhere else. For example a rare RPi hardware problem or, and more likely, an underpowered power supply or poor cable/connector.
