I don't know how MusicIP works in this regard. I think it might also use the filename, so if rename a file the information is lost. But I know that you can also choose to store the MusicIP information tags in the files. TrackStat also supports to import rating informatio from MusicIP, so if the information isn't lost in MusicIP and you perform an MusicIP import from the TrackStat section in Server Settings/Plugins after the rename, this would also get the information back.
