I am one of those running LMS and Spotty on a 32bit Windows computer. I
learned that from now on I need to use an older version of the helper
file saved as Spotty-custom.exe. Does this mean that no further bug
fixing or development will take place for Spotty on my hardware? The PC

Only no improvements in the helper app. Eg. normalization might not work as expected. But other than that there aren't any important changes in that part yet, and I don't know whether there will be any soon. Most of the changes usually are in the Perl code, which you'd still get.

Now the more specific question. Spotty seems to work fine using
v0.35.0(?), with one exception: I can't fast-forward in a Spotify track,

Hmm... Not even using SPT -> FLAC conversion? Can you run "spotty-custom.exe -x" and report back what that gives?

When I look in the server log file (is this correct, or is there a
specific Spotty log file?) the only error message that I see is:
"[21-07-16 19:31:01.4348] Slim::Plugin::xPL::Plugin::xplExecuteCallback
(619) Warning: Called without a client: prefset"

Are you actually using the xPL integration? If not, uninstall that plugin. Not that it would help with Spotty, but anyway.
