OK I think you might be on to something. I dug out my old radio and it doesn't happen on that (at least this time). I don't fully understand how to check what is transcoding but pretty sure it's flac on the SB3. I have the "prefer native format" box ticked if that is relevant. I've attached my convert.conf if that helps. If there's anything non-standard in there then it is for very old historical reasons and should be reset.
