OK, when I went directly to the Soundcloud plugin in the main list, and tried to set it, the above failure occured. Then I scrolled to Plugins in the main list, scrolled down to the Soundcloud plugin, clicked the Settings link at the right, and the button worked! Weird, but all is good now...
