The select error, if it's related to SlimScrobbler at all, is probably just a LastFM network issue.
A couple of people have reported problems when submissions don't work for a long time. Seems like the pending song file becomes corrupted in some way when it gets too big, although I think you'd see an error from the plugin if that was the case. It's wierd though, my scrobbling has been working fine the whole time with no issues. The radio's been a bit flaky but that seems OK since the weekend. I know that users used to be allocated to a specific scrobble server so I wonder if that's why it doesn't work for some people only? You used to be able to see that on the LastFM account page but it's gone now.
