That's really spot-on, because I'm starting to think harder about my migration path these days  The day Firefox drops TLS 1.0/1.1 finally I'm left with a headless NAS.
Oh, I actually wanted to ask about this: when I last tried to access my NAS in a browser, I wouldn't succeed. I didn't try FF, though.
I'm very interested in some more details of your configuration, if you don't mind: -main memory -disks used -any additional hardware necessary (raid controller etc.)? -FreeNAS/TrueNAS or what kind of software
I'm using the Pi to run LMS only. So there's no local disk, and as it's a Pi3B, there's no choice of memory size. Nowadays I'd probably go for the Pi4B with 2GB.
The music files still are on a NAS (Synology this time, but that doesn't really matter). The NAS does what a NAS does best: share files. The Pi (running picoreplayer.org) mounts the music folder using NFS or SMB read-only.
