Are there any general rules guidelines as to what target file to use in a particular type of room, listening preference, etc? I tried looking in the DRC documentation, but became quickly overwhelmed (and discouraged) by the the sheer volume of info there - and its very technical presentation.
I am currently using the flat file that came with DRC as a target, and hear obvious improvements (in the bass in particular) - but I've read several articles suggesting that a flat response is not always the best way to go. Would some of the spline files be a better choice, or is it just something I need to experiment with to suit my particular situation? If it helps, the room I listen is about 20ft by 30ft with solid oak floors and plaster walls. Equipment includes an SB3, NAD C720BEE receiver, Paradigm Studio 20 monitors, and a B&W ASW600 sub. I run the Studio 20s off the sub's high pass filter to cut down on some interaction between the speakers and the bookshelves that support them - this setup also clears up the midrange quite a bit. -- esbrewer ------------------------------------------------------------------------ esbrewer's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=12409 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=36617 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
