My workstation draws a kilowatt per hour and has a loud fan. When I listen to my music I prefer not to hear the noise of a workstation running. I bought the Pi4 to not run my workstation for music listening. Why do I want to have the network drive? Because I buy and download music from the internet and this is easier to do and manage from my computer, where I also organize my music collection from. When I add new music which is not from my streaming service, I will use the PC. This cleared up your questions?
