The "${10}" should be changed to "${12}" to handle WMA files.
However since you have modified mplayer.sh I am not sure whether you
have changed the number of arguments passed to mplayer.sh

It is not good practice to hijack a thread as it is very difficult to
read a thread with 2 parallel interactions. Post a reminder on your
own thread. Run slimserver from a shell prompt. Do a log with d_source
and d_plugins and try a BBC stations and copy log to a post.
Your initial standalone test doesn't work because URLs with "&" need
to be quoted before they can be run from a shell prompt as "&" means
run in background.
