Just got round to having another look into this... >> Exporting from SlimServer -> iTunes >> It should only attempt to do remapping of a file path and extension when >> the file extension is one that iTunes cannot read (eg. change .flac -> >> .mp3 and look for them somewhere else). > >This must be handled in the TrackStatiTunesUpdate.pl perl, as James >said earlier the iTunesUpdate.pl script delivered with the iTunes >Update plugin has an option to ignore this. I took a quick look to see >if there are any differences between the TrackStatiTunesUpdate.pl >script and the iTunesUpdate.pl script that does this, but I couldn't >find any. > I downloaded James' iTunesUpdate210.zip and compared iTunesUpdate.pl with TrackStatiTunesUpdateWin.pl, and found lots of differences in general between those files. Did you mean that there were no differences in the part of the script that would handle that part of the functionality?
I can't use iTunesUpdate, as it apparently doesn't work when running as a service. >Have you tried if it works with the current TrackStatiTunesUpdate.pl script ? Yes, it didn't work. >James, if you are still reading this, maybe you can help to tell me >where this logic is implemented so I can merge it into the TrackStat >version of the perl script. > Did you have any contact with James? >I would prefer to not spend a lot of time implementing different >configuration options for the iTunes integration stuff in TrackStat at >the moment. The reason is that the only reason I'm using this >integration myself is to get the music to the iPod. My feeling is that >the new iPod plugin I'm working on will do this in a much better way >since it doesn't involve iTunes, log files and two operating systems (I >run SlimServer on Linux and iTunes on Windows). However, if you do some >change in the TrackStat code/scripts to make them work better in your >environment, I'll be happy to include these changes in a future >version. My priority too is for TrackStat->iTunes syncing. After I have that working, I will look into getting stats back from iTunes->TrackStat.
