Sorry for the delay -- I've been hoping someone (nobody in particular)
who knows Windows better might see this & chime in! It sounds like a
permission problem. My understanding/experience is that SlimServer runs
as Local System, and Local System usually has Full Control of the serial
ports, so this should work. But I'm rusty on Windows permissions, and
have never explored the difference between invoking Perl as a normal
SAM user, using the Services control panel, and using SlimTray. Who
does the the SlimServer control panel say the service should run as? If
you stop/start with the Services control panel, does that help?
