I believe these are the steps to install AlienBBC in Ubuntu - is this how you installed AlienBBC ?
Copy plugin to /usr/share/slimserver/Plugins so that itis an Alien folder in Plugins. Make sure mplayer.sh is in /usr/share/slimserver/Bin. Make sure mplayer.sh has execute permissions.
