I think using a Jive remote would be a better starting point it is only beta but a real product is likely.. (http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.cgi?JiveUI http://forums.slimdevices.com/showpost.php?p=222605&postcount=7)
Using Jive has the advantage that it is a separate Linux device with all the necessary audio output. The motion detection of Jive also has added advantage the user could just shake the Jive remote and it could speak the "Now Playing" text. Having a earphone socket means the visually impaired user could browse the database without annoying any other listeners. Trying to modify Slimserver to generate speech and decide when should music play and when voice and whee should the mixing occur would seem to be far more difficult than making Jive "talk". -- bpa ------------------------------------------------------------------------ bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=38903 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
