SlimServer 6.5.2, SoftSqueeze 3.3 under XP Home. When running Alien BBC with my SqueezeBox and SoftSqueeze synched I've been getting "juddering" (the old "stuck needle" effect, with the track repeating the previous 3 or 4 seconds a few times before moving on....) out of SoftSqueeze (the SqueezeBox side runs perfectly). I'm pretty sure it's because the rather elderly PC running the system is just overworked. But I thought I could also try increasing the buffer size in the SoftSqeeze Prefs. I doubled it from the default of 128000 to 256000. That seems to have improved but not wholly solved the problem. I can just do different buffer sizes by trial and error - but is there any way of calculating what the optimum buffer size should be?
