I think the problem was that I had defined new title formats in 6.5 for use in MIS. When I imported my 6.5 settings into SC 7.0, I didn't have MIS plugin installed. After I installed MIS, I couldn't edit the settings (settings screens in SC7.0 were broken). Having just gone through the player settings, I can see that some of the configured title formats weren't present, and this appeared to be screwing up the MIS player display, and causing the duplicate text on the screen (static content and scrolling content at the same time). I've now redefined my music formats and added them back into MIS player settings, and all is well.
