The skipped data is should be updated - do you see this message in the update log at all? "Marking as skipped in iTunes"
What does the script report your itunes version as (I'm still on 7.4)? The zero rating looks like a bug - It's only supposed to save the zero if it's been deliberately set to zero. I'll take a look at this...
