OK, here's what I did. I updated my Slimserver software to the current version (6.5.4). I updated the firmware. I left the plugin as it was - the upgrade to 6.5.4 didn't seem to affect the plugin folder.
After doing all this, and restarting my computer, it's working. However, at first, not all of the Sirius channels were working. Mainly, I wanted to have Howard Stern play on my home stereo, but those channels were missing from the lineup. For example, when I looked by channel number, the channels were mostly there, but 100 and 101 (the Stern channels) were missing. I closed and restarted Slimserver. When I used the remote with the Squeezebox to go to Sirius, it paused for about a minute to update channel information.
