You're right - editing the default.opml file is the only way at
present.

AlienBBC 2.0 uses a lot of common SC code and initially AlienBBC was
just ported to use the common code and not much work has been done
refining the menu options.  

The nub of the problems is how to implement a personal default/factory
setting functionality while still using the common opml/templates and
minimise code development/maintenance.  The main issue is handling
upgrades/re-installs and losing personal settings.

Side issues to be resolved 
- find & fix the duplicating menu bug.
- possibility to shorten menu by moving non-BBC stations to submenu or
wiki.
