I spent hours seeing if I could get a USB modem working on Ubuntu server to have it get caller ID. Reading things on the web it sounded like is hard to get a USB modem working on Linux.
I did the command: usbmodules >From that info. I did: usbmodules --device /proc/bus/usb/002/002 I picked 002/002 because a command I did like this: lsusb Said "Bus 002 Device 002: ID 04c1:0097 U.S. Robotics (3Com)" The usbmodules only came back with "cdc-acm" I looked on google for cdc-acm and this this: /dev/ttyACM0 Did: minicom -s and put /dev/ttyACM0 in it's device. That worked! It talkes to my "3Com U.S. Robotics 56K Voice Faxmodem Pro" It's a nice modem and has a very good speaker phone. Here is a ati7 command in minicom: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~# minicom Welcome to minicom 2.2 OPTIONS: I18n Compiled on Mar 7 2007, 15:10:03.
