I'm assuming as well :)

No, it should work. I don't run SC on osx but on a quick test on winxp
they work just fine (albeit a different prefs location). Could you go
into server settings->Advanced->Logging and set plugin.execute to DEBUG.
Click Apply then go to the Execute Script settings page on the web
interface. If you then look at the log file (location and link are found
on the logging settings page), the log should be reporting the location
used and any scripts found.
It should look similar to this:
[14:54:55.4028] Plugins::ExecuteScript::Plugin::scriptlist (181) Execute:
loading scripts from C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application
Data\SqueezeCenter\prefs\scripts
[14:54:55.4067] Plugins::ExecuteScript::Plugin::scriptlist (192) Execute:
found test
[14:54:55.4070] Plugins::ExecuteScript::Plugin::scriptlist (192) Execute:
found test.bat
If this doesn't help, you can also set os.files to DEBUG in the logging
settings as well. The log will then report any problems when trying to
read the folder. Make sure it has sufficient permissions for the
SqueezeCenter user.
