In 2., when I put the full path, usr/local/bin/mplayer, I got 'no such file or directory', so I just put mplayer on the top level, and got the 'no such command'. In 4., when I put the full path, usr/local/bin/mplayer, I get the 'missing library' message. When I put mplayer at the top level, I get 'no such command'. I get the feeling I'm out of my depth here.
