I've tried to install SqueezeCenter 7.0 on my FreeNAS but I dont get it to work. I think I'm missing something obvious here.
I followed the guide on Michael Herger's site: http://www.herger.net/slim/detail.php?nr=1026&kategorie=slim But as I read it, I can not follow it to 100% if I want to install 7.0. The guide seems to be written for 6.x. 1.) I have created a share that's named slimnas ("\mnt\MountPoint\slimnas\"). 2.) To that share I have copied these files: - slimnas-0.92.tgz - slimnas-install.sh - squeezecenter-7.0-17779-noCPAN.tgz 3.) When I then run the command: "/bin/sh /mnt/MountPoint/slimnas/slimnas-install.sh" I get an error saying: "$ /bin/sh /mnt/MountPoint/slimnas/slimnas-install.sh Extracting Perl and supporting files... There has been a failure installing SlimNAS." 4.) I then rename the file "slimnas-0.92.tgz" to "slimnas.tgz" and the install script seems to work as I get: "$ /bin/sh /mnt/MountPoint/slimnas/slimnas-install.sh Extracting Perl and supporting files... Creating service web page for FreeNAS web interface... Done! Please open go your FreeNAS' main menu - you should now find SlimServer in the Extensions section. Have fun!" 5.) I mark my "squeezecenter-7.0-17779-noCPAN.tgz" to be installed and hit the "Save" button. 6.) When the page is saved I get the following status: "SqueezeCenter is not available. Please note that it might take a minute or more for the service to be available after a restart. Please refresh this page to check the status again." 7.) I wait about 5-10min and refresh the page but the status = failed doesnt change. I try to enable and save but it doesnt get eny better. I also try to reboot but that doesnt help either. I have tried to uninstall (I get a script error***). I have compleatly removed all the files and tried repeatedly but I cant get it to work. My only resolution is that I have missed something, as I see that other people on this forum have gotten it to work and are indeed promoting it.
