It sounds like both copies of softsqueeze think they have the same player ID code. The ID code is not based on IP address, it's based on the ethernet address hard-coded in the computer. It's possible the address is read by softsqueeze and then stored as a setting instead of trying to read it every startup. When you cloned the settings, it probably copied the preferences file for softsqueeze in your user account.
