No need to change mplayer - mplayer version is not tied into AlienBBC as
long as command line interface and RealAudio functionality remains the
same.

In fact 1.0rc2 is best for OSX as there was an audio problem with
1.0rc1. However 1.0rc2 can have a problem with AACplus streams if
mplayer was built with default config options.

I have no plans for patch for SC7.0. I don't see much in SC7.0 of
interest to a Roku user unless they were a complete Slimserver users. I
think the only feature might be Pandora (and possibly Slacker &
Rhapsody) as SC7 allows SB1 users to use Pandora through SC.

The Roku problem is due to a timeout of about 6 secs in Roku if audio
is not received. AlienBBC has a large cache set for mplayer and audio
streams ran at 40kb/s so live stream took about 10-12 secs to start.
You could try to reduce cache in custom-convert.conf from 128 to say 96
or even 64. Also I think the BBC increased the audio streams from 40 to
64kbs. So with the cache changes you might get audio within the Roku 6
secs timeout.
