The cache is already stored on the PPC. At the moment I can't connect to the MySQL database directly so I have to run the database tool on a desktop to do that part. This creates an SQLite database that then has to be copied to the PPC. Eventually I'll have to find a way to do the database download directly in PocketSqueeze but its not a high priority.
I'll have to think about the A-Z. It would be very hard to implement on the album and track lists (because it would have to be based on the current sort criteria) but maybe I could do it just for the artist, genre and year lists. I'm not sure I have space for it either. I have a couple of other ideas for moving through long lists quickly though. At the moment the left/right direction keys move through the list and will trigger page changes. On my Axim these keys auto-repeat if they are held down. I'm also thinking of implementing a touch-slide-hold function on the screen which will trigger auto-repeating page advances. netim3;279902 Wrote: > Hi > > I like the way you're keeping the SC look & feel. > > I agree re the importance of keeping a cache for speedy performance. > Could you keep this on the PPC itself, rather than on another device? > I'd prefer to add some memory there than have to leave a PC running all > the time. > > I have a large music collection, so I'd suggest the following: On the > text-list views for Artist & Album, have a row across the top for A-Z > to allow jumping to a particular point without having to hit Next 25 > times. > > I'd also suggest taking a look at Telcanto, see if that gives you any > other ideas. > > nice work -- shawkie ------------------------------------------------------------------------ shawkie's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3751 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=44558 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
