Greg, I think there was something flaky going on with my Verizon Westell 327w router/modem. Verizon uses security levels with the router that are very hard to decipher and change. I think they do this on purpose. Their default setting requires numerous port forwarding changes to get things to work. So I converted it to a bridge, went back to my Dlink router and I have had no problems since.
