Hi, I had a great softsqueeze crash yesterday and had trouble finding any errors on either the server or the player (different machines) so I thought I'd tell the tale and ask if anyone can help me with where the errors get logged.
This is with the official release version of SC7 on XP. I got my old laptop running softsqueeze and synch'd it to the main squeezer in the living room and it was cool. Laptop on wireless, sb2 and server on wired. I run Inguz and it was all going great. I even had a few glitches in the wireless link and it resynched within seconds. Very impressed. Then I foolishly went to the softsqueeze(SQ) options and changed the skin. When I clicked ok there was a goodly pause and SQ stopped playing. Then I tried to restart and got a second of white noise then silence. Even the SB wasn't happy. I kept trying various sync and unsync combos but the server was not happy. The really, really weird one was that the server lost all information for the album I was playing. That was why there was silence. When I tried to rebrowse to the album there were no tracks! I even rebooted all the machines and it didn't fix it. In the end I had to do a full rescan of the library and rebuild the db before the album reappeared. By now I'd messed up so much I was in trouble with my other half for ruining the music mood and need to get on with the cooking :) So, there were no errors on softsqueeze. I tried to find errors on the server and couldn't find a log file. There was nothing in event viewer. Where do I start to look? Is this a familiar tale? I know my next stage is to update everything to the latest release and have another go but other hints are welcome. I want to put an SB3 and Audioengine 2 in the kitchen to sync with the lounge and this was the trial run to get official approval for the purchase order.
