1. If you're using a NAS that doesn't have an x86-compatible CPU, you
may need to compile 'br' or 'heyu' yourself, but the plugin includes
the source code.

2. I would expect that you could use a USB-to-serial adapter like the
Keyspan units along with a regular CM11A or CM17, but I have not tried
that.
