The plugin aspects is the menu and starting the stream. Once a stream is running, it is just an audio stream.
If it it is a bug then it will happen with other transcoded streams. If it only happens on AlienBBC then it may be related to your system (e.g. mplayer can be a heavy load on NAS ).
