OK, that makes sense now... Back to square 1: it's an access issue, obviously you cannot access SC from the iPod. routing comes to mind... What IP does your iPod get? (Settings->WiFi) What's your topology? Are the other computers you tried this with also on your WLAN or on a wired connection? Could your access point prevent routing of port 9000? After all, that's supposed to be an uncommon port. Your iPod may not be part of your windows working group, maybe some firewall software... oh no, that was turned off...
