With reference to my thread in the 3rd party hardware forum;

http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=49061

Here is the solution from mr hyde;

'1. mount the public share as admin
2. download the autodisplay plugin and store it on the public share
3. unzip the file to public share (i would use 7zip)
--> now a directory 'AutoDisplay' should be on your public share
4. open putty and connect via ssh to your TS (user: admin and
corresponding pwd)
5. type 'cd /share/Public'
6. type 'cp -r AutoDisplay /volume1/SqueezeCenter/Plugins/'
7. restart SqueezeCenter and choose in settings/player/display
(Anzeige)
'manuel brightness' (or similar since i've got it in german) ->
Autodisplay is only working with this setting since the latest release
of 7.0.1

* you could type 'cd /volume1/SqueezeCenter/Plugins' to move to this
directory
* and with 'll' you could see, if the directory is there.'

Make sure you don't type the ' like I did when typing the command lines
. Plus 7-zip is so much better than winzip so is worth using IMHO. Also,
I have Squeezecenter 7.0.0 installed and this plugin works with that.
