So are saying is that to use my own MIP settings might have been a
better idea after all?? :s

The break point around nothing happening seems to focus around the
formatting of the API request to MIP.

You can see in some examples that it has song=file:/// or ///folder/
etc.
I'm sure (although I might have dreamt it) that it was possible to
pass; //c://filename.mp3 to MIP and it worked ok, but it doesnt seem to
like it now, which might be related to the later version 1.9b5 of MIP
handling it in a different way or maybe some gremlin crept in, I'm
suffering from flu at the moment :(

I have two setups, one system where my music is located at;
C:\my docs\music.mp3 and another which has music stored at
\\NAS\music\tunes.mp3

I tested lastnight against both of them and found it had broken the
formatting for my \\NAS setup, so I corrected this under Version
1.2.1.
So might be worth trying that version, which might work for Linux,
though knowing my luck wont :s

If you run in debug mode, you can see item; mytitle-pre which is the
before we format it and then mytitle which is the post format.
Then the Sent to MIP, is the complete format sent to MIP, if this fails
with a notify error, could you please take this line and drop it into a
web browser and see what changes need to be made for it to return a
correct result. I can then modify the formatting code accordingly.

Could someone check out my menu structure as well, I couldnt find any
documentation on how to do it so poached some from another plugin and
then tried to reverse engineer it to suit. I noticed when running
under debug that I got strange ANON messages sometimes but couldnt work
out their cause, it could be I screwed something there. My total perl
experience is circa a few weeks and my SC experience even less!

One other thing I noted, when pulling the MIP filter from the offical
MIP plugin configuration, even though in the drop down it has a filter
selected this doesnt return this filter and you get nothing.
If you select a NONE as filter.. save it, and then reselect the filter
and save again. The filter setting is then correct when queried.
I'm wondering whether there is a bug in SC that each time I upgrade SC
it doesnt manage these settings correctly? In one setup it was
reporting back a MIP filter that didnt exist anymore for circa 6mths!

Hopefully we can get these basics nailed down and then do some more
interesting stuff :)
