It may be as simple as increasing the max version setting in the
plugin.  Stop Squeezecenter, navigate to the install.xml file, open in
a text editor and change the value for MaxVersion to 7.* (or 7.1 if
that's what you're planning to use for a while).  Save, close, restart
Squeezecenter.  Does that sort your issue out?
