Look carefully at the lower left corner. The icon is a down-pointing arrow, marked "REM". Click this to drop the remote UI. On the right side, second column in third button down you'll see the prefs button. This was one of the original skins, created when softsqueeze was not deliberately intended to look and feel like a squeezebox.
