If you have tagged your music with MusicBrainz tags, it will survive
any move or rename operation of the music files. If you don't use
MusicBrainz tags, the statistics will be lost if you rename or move a
file.

If you do a major move/rename operation of a main directory, you can
1. take a backup before the move/rename
2. Move/rename and perform a full rescan
3. Open the backup in a text editor and replace the paths with the new
name
4. Restore the modified backup file
