Are you sure you've installed the new version ? Which version does SqueezeCenter Settings/Plugins say you have ?
If you are using Vista make sure you really unzipped the plugin without any warnings, there is bug in Vista which causes some zip files to not unzip correctly. If you don't get it to work, I would shutdown SqueezeCenter, completely remove the old version, unzip the new version and then startup SqueezeCenter again.
