Fonts.bin was tough to find...so I could delete it to cure the overlap issue with the latest versions of SDT and SlimServer. I hope this helps some of you...
On my Core Duo Mac Mini running OSX V10.5.4 I found the file here: Users->"UserName"->Library->Caches->Slimserver->Fonts.bin As others have reported here, deleting this fonts.bin file cures the text/ icons overlap issue with SDT.
