I have an AudioSource Amp100 driving 2 pairs of Polk in-ceiling speakers in our kitchen/dining area. I'm very happy with it. The auto-sensing works great *if* you use the correct input -- I think it's input 2. Then it will put itself to sleep ~5 minutes after it stops getting an audio signal. It doesn't shut off completely, and still draws a little electricity. I put a Kill-a-Watt meter on it, but I forgot exactly what the reading was, other than it was low enough that I don't worry about it. If you use the wrong input then it will cut out even with short quiet passages in the music.
The sound quality is fine, as is the power, and the price is excellent. One thing that disappoints some people is that it does not have bass/treble controls. Because mine is tucked away in a pantry I have wall-mounted volume controls, so I don't have to scramble for the SB Controller when I have it cranked. -- aubuti Nothing high-end, but music anywhere I want it.
