The A-Z and Listen again were the old BBC facility which some regiobnal BBC stations still maintained.
If youy are not getting any programs then either 1. There is an installation problem 2. There is a problem with network communications. Since you are in the UK you would be better off installing and using the BBCiPlayer plugin as this give better quality MP3 audio with no transcoding.
