Do you know how to use your mac? You've said that you are new to
SqueezeCenter/Squeezebox.

I said that SqueezeCenter has a preference pane, and I *mean*
preference pane. That's an item in the System Preferences, not a
setting in the Web interface to SqueezeCenter.

You don't actually *need* a static IP address. But if you have a
dynamic address, then you will need to find out what it currently is
from time to time. With a static address, you can bookmark the relevant
address in Mobile Safari, for instance I have a bookmark to
http:192.168.1.3:9000/iPeng. Here 192.168.1.3 is my static address,
9000 is the default port for communication with SqueezeCenter, and the
/iPeng chooses the skin that is used. That's with the current
arrangement, where iPeng is a plugin, not a native app.

I don't give details of how to create a static address, as this depends
partly on your router.

And nobody used the word "reset" anywhere, though "reboot" was used.

The power button you mention, unless I am misunderstanding you, is the
one that turns the Squeezebox on and off remotely. (Technical point.
The SB is never truly off, rather it is on or in standby. That's why
the power button in the Web interface can work.)
