On my system I have a veto flag I can raise so the system will avoid
shutting down on idle. Currently I have to "touch" a file in /var/lock
and it's a pain.
The pain prompted me to think, it would be cool to be able to set the
lock from the SB plugin menu.

Wouldn't the capability to temporarily disable the plugin from the
remote/SBC somehow complement the flexibility the "end-of-day" feature
has brought ?

I see 2 ways of doing this; Either via a blocker that would lock plugin
actions, or via a blocker + command which would lock suspend at system
level (unsure this would be widely used, although I see there is a
'disable shutdown' plugin for windows).

Opinions ?
