If you have previously renamed files it could be that the old installation contains TrackStat entries that aren't connected to the database. The backup operation take backup of all TrackStat entries while the restore operation only restores the entries where it finds the song in the SqueezeCenter database. The restore operation also happens in the background, so it's important to wait until it is finished, you will get an entry in the SqueezeCenter log when it is.
If you install Database Query plugin in both installations and select the "TrackStat Statistics" query, you can compare the numbers and see if there are any entries missing in the iMac installation.
