It seems to work in my own setup. Does the dynamic playlist you have setup as a favorite work if you launch the playlist directly from the Dynamic Playlists menu ?
Does it work when you launch it as a favorite ? If both above works, do you have some playlist option or other filtering (for example with Custom Skip plugin), that could have caused the playlist to have no matching tracks at the time when the alarm was triggered. I think the backup alarm handling doesn't work correctly when used with a Dynamic Playlist playlist.
