This comes back to a discussion I initiated over a year ago :

This is what led me to the conclusion that a query via mySQL was the
only reasonable way to do it. Have things changed since then - is there
anything new in the CLI that may help?

I'm not using WPF for the UI no. The majority of it is
HTML+CSS+javascript - the main section is a web browser.
