I am trying to install IR Blaster and have been running into difficulty getting beyond having IR-Blaster 5.4 show up in the plugin list in Squeeze Center. Ive seen other posts with similar issues but did not get to a solution that worked. Although IR-Blaster 5.4 shows up and is checked and the server is stopped and re-started, the Settings button on the right (in settings/plugins never appears. From one of the posts, that Settings button is used to open up the browser-based setup page (at least from the screen shots that were in the posts).
I have the files unzipped and downloaded in mac_harddrive/library/cache/squeezecenter/plugins (this is where another plugin (iPeng) is installed and working. Setup: Mac OS 10.x, SqueezeBox Classic, SqueezeCenter 7.3, Analog audio out to Yamaha RX-V995, mini-phone from SqueezeBox to IR Input on Yamaha RX-V995 Im new to SqueezeBox (love it) thanks to a generous brother that set me up this Christmas. Ive been having a blast with all of the flexibility with the plugins and particularly being able to stream music from the live music archive. I have spent quite a bit of time reading the wiki and forums and wanted to offer up a few observations from a new user perspective. 1) There are 3 plugin directories listed in the squeezecenter settings on my computer (Mac). Is this typical? 2) To restart squeeze center (action needed to recognize any new plugin) I go into Mac OS Settings, bring up Squeeze Center (via the icon) and stop and re-start the server (via toggle stop/start button in the control application) 3) I was able to install the iPeng plugin without difficulty once I figured out how to stop and re-start the Squeezebox server. Its a simple thing once you know what to do but doesnt seem to be documented well unless Ive missed something because there is a ton of info out there.
