I'm also having the same issue with Extension Downloader and SugarCube. The plugin's page shows that 1.8.0 is installed, but when I update to 1.8.1 via Extension Installer... the installation process finishes successfully, but the version remains the same in the Plugin's page. The Extension Installer page still shows that the update from 1.8.0 to 1.8.1 is available.
